Meet the Executive

Our Senior Executive team provides strategic leadership and sets the long-term vision and goals for the school, ensuring that the school’s mission and values are upheld. They bring specialised expertise in all areas of education, administration, and finance.

Head of Junior School

Mrs Rachael Jamieson Newton

Mrs Newton worked at St Paul’s from 2014 to 2021 before taking on the Head of Junior School position at Blue Mountains Grammar School. She has been the Head of Junior School at St Paul's Grammar School since the start of 2026.

Mrs Newton is an exceptional educator with a strong understanding and passion for the International Baccalaureate and excellent teaching and learning. She has a deep connection with St Paul’s, both as a past staff member and current parent.

Mrs Newton knows clearly what it means when we say St Paul’s is a Christian Grammar School and has a strong vision about leading our Junior School into the future. She is committed to all stakeholders being inquirers and thinkers, principled and caring. Mrs Newton aims to foster an education at St Paul’s that isn’t afraid to ask the big questions of life and be open minded as we explore their answers.

Director of Students and Family Services

Mrs Fiona Wright

Mrs Wright has served in Christian education with a deep sense of calling and purpose. After completing her teaching degree, she began her journey in two small Christian schools before moving to Penrith Anglican College, where she dedicated 26 years to a variety of roles. Her passion lies in helping young people know and value themselves so they can make a positive impact in the world.

Mrs Wright believes education is a partnership between school and family, and she is committed to fostering strong relationships that support student growth. Her faith is central to her work, shaping her approach to care, accountability, and grace. She strives to encourage students to ask life’s big questions and to live courageously, using their voices to advocate for others.

Director of Learning Services

Mr Antony Mayrhofer

In his early career, Mr Mayrhofer taught for the NSW Department of Education before coming to St Paul’s. At St Paul’s, he has led the Duke of Edinburgh International Award and introduced the Gold Award to the school, held roles of Year Master, Head of Department (Science) and Director of International Relations before taking on his current role.

Mr Mayrhofer has worked extensively with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA; formerly BOSTES) and the IB Organisation in developing curriculum for Science and Biology. These curricula have been taught to hundreds of thousands of students throughout NSW and around the world. 

As Senior Examiner for NESA and Deputy Chief examiner for the IB Diploma, Mr Mayrhofer has led assessment teams for both the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and IB Diploma in Biology.

Mr Mayrhofer has trained HSC teachers for NESA and continues to train IB teachers for the IB Organisation throughout the Asia Pacific Region and throughout the world.

He holds the position of Secretary of IB Schools Australasia, the peak body representing IB schools in Australia with Governments, Universities, and the IB Organisation, and is a former Chair of this Committee.

Mr Mayrhofer is also a Member of the Australian Council of Educational Leaders and the Australian College of Educators. He has presented at Educational Conferences in Australia and throughout the world on educational practice.

Mr Mayrhofer has a strong belief in the power of quality education, to change lives for good; he hopes he can share this with others.

Director of Professional Growth

Mrs Leanne McLean

With the belief in people being one of the most important assets of a school Mrs McLean is passionate that our staff embody the types of learners we want our students to be. She seeks opportunities for staff growth that meet the needs of both staff and benefit the students. In conjunction with individual professional development there is strategic building of long-term plans to shape the needs of our Christian Educational setting.

At St Paul’s she has been a Head of Department (Design) and then developed the role of Director of Professional Growth. Through her career as a teacher, she has been an HSC marker for Design and Technology, worked on advisory teams for curriculum development and presented project-based learning for teachers of Design.

Mrs McLean is driven by her desire to be a lifelong learner, one of the IB Learner Profiles. To this end she is currently working towards her Educational Doctorate focussing on challenges in the workplace and how organisations can seek better outcomes for staff. 

Mrs McLean is married and enjoys time with her husband and family. Her favourite holiday is camping with family and friends. She attends her local church where she and her husband serve in ministry.

Director of Business and Finance

Mr Gavin Riley

In his role, Mr Riley has responsibility for all financial operations and has oversight of the support and maintenance staff at the school.

As Company Secretary he also has responsibility to support the Board of Directors in governance and compliance matters for the company. Mr Riley takes a key role in the Finance, Property, and Risk and Compliance Committees.

Mr Riley has worked in the Independent School sector since 2010 and prior to this spent almost 20 years working in professional accounting firms in audit services as well as consulting roles in business valuation, litigation support, and providing financial modelling services.

Mr Riley is married with three children and attends Rouse Hill Anglican Church. He values the importance of a Christian education and the opportunity this brings to share the Christian faith with children as they learn and grow.

Director of Community Engagement

Mrs Julie McDonough

Mrs McDonough began her teaching career at Fairvale Public School before transitioning to the private sector, where she worked as an educator and trainer at a pharmaceutical company for 12 years. St Paul’s was the school of choice for her eldest son, who was part of the first cohort of Pre-Kindergarten in 2008.

After experiencing the culture of the school community as a parent, Mrs McDonough decided to return to teaching as a Mathematics teacher in the Secondary School. Her passion for international student education led her to become the Homestay Coordinator for the International Students Programme (ISP) in 2014, and she later took on the role of ISP Coordinator.

Mrs McDonough is tasked with the oversight of marketing, public relations, and events at St Paul's.

Director of Information and Communication Technology

Mr Justin Warner

Mr Warner is responsible for the extensive provision, operation, and support of information technology within the school, working with learning leaders to strategically deliver services and solutions that will enhance learning, and simplify administration. Mr Warner began working in IT in schools while completing his degree. Subsequently, he continued in the education sector and began working at St Paul’s in 2003. He spent two years as a software developer for a company who made school management software and returned to St Paul’s in 2008. He was appointed to his current role as a member of the school's executive staff in 2014.

At St Paul’s, Mr Warner is on the Risk and Compliance committee, and is involved in the Website working group and IT Strategic Plan working group. Mr Warner enjoys his work a great deal and relishes keeping abreast of developments in the tech industry. 

An avid gamer, Mr Warner also plays drums at church, and can have a simple conversation in Japanese. He and his wife Hayley have five children; two of which currently attend St Paul’s.
